Nominations for the Executive positions up for election for the upcoming season are now closed. Thank you to everyone who submitted their nominations and to those who accepted nominations made on their behalf. The election will be held following the AGM on June 9th (details to follow). The current SMHA Executive would like to thank Ryan Brewer for reoffering as VP of U9  and Craig Foley for Risk Management and congratulate them on the acclamation of these positions as they are running unopposed. The following Executive positions are open for nominations:

Please submit your nomination to the Nomination Committee c/o Melissa Berkvens (Secretary@FlyersHockey.ca) by 12 midnight on May 18th.

Any member in good standing may nominate themselves or another member as a candidate for an Executive Officer position by providing the Nominating Committee with the following:

a. A letter that includes the name of the member nominated and the Director position for which the member is being nominated; and

b. A signed statement by the nominee affirming that he or she is a member eligible as a candidate for the Executive Officer position for which he or she is being nominated and that he or she is willing to accept the position if elected.

As a reminder, SMHA's Year-End Awards & Banquet for the U11, U13 and U15 Divisions is coming up this Monday, April 1st.  

• Teams from U6, U7, and U9 Divisions are encouraged to do their own team-level year-end celebrations. 
• Teams from U18 will receive their Team Awards from SMHA, and are encouraged to do their own team-level year-end celebrations by mid-April. 

Year-End Awards Banquet Details

When: Easter Monday, April 1st, 2024
Where: Springfield Lake Recreation Centre (266 Lakeview Ave, Middle Sackville)
Dress Code: Smart Casual (Parents/Guardians: Please don't go out and buy something new - just avoid sweatpants please!)

There are three banquets, one after the other, to be able to accommodate all teams.

• U11 Banquet: 3:00pm - 4:25pm
• U13 Banquet: 4:45pm - 6:10pm
• U15 Banquet: 6:30pm - 7:50pm

Due to capacity restrictions, the Banquet is limited to the players, Team Manager, Head Coach(es) and Assistant Coaches only.
