Sackville Minor has partnered with Chris Wall to provide Goalie Development for our 2024/25 Season! 

Goalie Development is available to all goalies of any age and skill level registered within the association, and the costs are covered by SMHA! We encourage all goalies to take advantage of this excellent goalie training!

Every Tuesday night at East Coast Varsity starting October 29, 2024:

U7/U9 5:30-6:30pm

U11/U13 6:30-7:30pm

U15/U18 7:30-8:30pm

Chris Wall brings over 20 years of goalie coaching experience. A native of Halifax, NS his playing career includes minor hockey with the Halifax Hawks, Dartmouth Subways (NSMMHL), Halifax Wolverines (MHL), London Nationals (GOJHL), Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL), London Knights (OHL), and Dalhousie Tigers (CIS). He was also fortunate to represent Team Nova Scotia at the 2003 Canada Winter Games. During his playing career he trained with many current and former NHL goalie coaches. Chris now works with goaltenders of all ages to help develop their skills to take their game to the next level. His wealth of playing and coaching experience along with excellent communication skills will be a huge asset to the program.

We are putting a call out for interest in our SMHA Director of Equipment Board position. 

Director of Equipment

The Director of Equipment is responsible for effectively maintaining an inventory of uniforms and other assets/supplies by managing, distributing and collecting all equipment assets owned by SMHA.

The Board oversees the day-to-day operations of the Association. It consists of the Executive plus the named Director positions described in the Bylaws. Director positions are one-year appointments, and are made or renewed every season. Selections are based on interviews and a vote among the SMHA Executive.

Directors must be in good standing with SMHA, and must have one year of volunteer experience with either SMHA or another Minor Hockey association. Please see our updated bylaws (Article VII- 42 M-V ) for more information.

Sackville Minor Power Skating & Defense Camp

We have received an amazing amount of positive feedback and interest for both the Power Skating & Defense sessions. 

• $20.00 per session for power skating or defense
• Defense - U9 and up
• Power Skating - U11 and up, as U9 has power skating built into their current sessions. 

SMHA has set up an online store in HCR to sign up for the first 2 weeks. The store will open at 7:00pm tonight, October 18th with the option to register for any of the following sessions:

• Oct 22 - Power Skating - RBC Centre 4:00-5:30pm 
• Oct 27 - Defense - ECV 7:00-8:30am
• Oct 29 - Power Skating - RBC Centre 4:00-5:30pm 
• Nov 3 - Defense - ECV 7:00-8:30am

Following the above 2 weeks, the HCR store will open up every Thursday at 7:00pm for the following week's sessions and will close after the limit of 25 players per session has been reached. 

Registration can only be paid via credit card (processing fees apply) or by prior year 50/50 credits.

Current 2024/25 season's 50/50 credits cannot be used to pay for these camps. Please keep this in mind when your team asks how much credit you would like transferred to the team budget this year.
